More December Conferences

I just found out about these December conferences—there’s still time to register.  And they’re both local (I guess that kind of depends on where you live).

The Urban Indian Wellness Consortium is “helping to address the physical, mental, and spiritual health needs of American Indian people living off-reservation.â€Â  They’re hosting a one day conference, Health & Wellness Issues in American Indian Communities: The Off-Reservation Experience on December 6 in Franklin, WI.  This is the first in a three part series.  Attendance is free.

Chicago is the site of the 5th Annual Behavioral Health Care Conference  December 9-10.  Topics will include:

  • Integrating Behavioral Health Care and Primary Care
  • Suicide Risk Assessment & Risk Reduction–What methods for prevention of suicide have been successful for both psychiatric hospitals and free standing behavioral health care facilities?
  • Red Cross Training for Mental Health Professionals–How can behavioral health care facilities and staff be better prepared for emergency situations?

Attendees will receive 11.5 Continuing Education Units.
