Welcome to Rural Community Development

Welcome to the first entry in my new blog, Rural Community Development. As the title says, my plan is to use this blog to inform you about opportunities and resources to improve capacity in rural communities, specifically around health care issues. I’ll be providing information on grant opportunities, grant seeking and writing tips and other resources you can use to increase your knowledge and skills to address health care challenges in rural communities. I’ll also provide Office of Rural Health program updates, such as news about the Health Professions Loan Assistance Program and ORH sponsored workshops.

I want this blog to be as useful to you as possible, so please leave me feedback on what you’d like to read more of, let me know about resources or opportunities that you hear about and let me know if I get something wrong. I’ll monitor the comments on a regular basis, or you can contact me directly if you want more information about anything I mention.

You’ll be able to browse through all my posts (if you really want to!). They will also be sorted by category through the index on the right, under Sort Posts by Type. My goal is to update this at least once a week, like my Community Update page on the ORH website.

I hope you find this useful and informative. To paraphrase the motto of our Rural Reporter, I do the research so you don’t have to.
