EMS Scholarships Available
The National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) sponsors a scholarship program for first responders, EMTs and Paramedics interested in advancing their EMS education. These scholarships are available:
- First Responders (to become EMT-Basic) – up to $500 each
- EMT-Basic (to become EMT-Paramedic) – up to $5,000 each
- Paramedics (to advance education in the realm of EMS) – up to $2,000 each
You must have an individual NAEMT membership (you can join when you apply) and complete the online application by September 15 for classes next spring semester. NAEMT offers this opportunity twice a year; the next deadline is June 15, 2011 for the fall 2011 semester. The application consists of a letter describing why you are pursuing EMS education and it will be judged on the evidence of your dedication to the profession and your community.
