Rural Health Discovers Social Media

by John on May 13, 2009

Last week I presented this slideshow to the National Rural Health Association at their annual conference in Miami.  (Don’t even get me started on how beautiful the beach was there…)  I’ve uploaded it to SlideShare as I’d like to see it spread around in rural and healthcare circles – hope you find it useful!

I’ll be trying to add audio in the next week or so – let me know in the comments if you have ideas for improvements for the next version!

  • Great presentation John. Wondering if you've found any rural hospitals (or other rural health care organizations) who are really engaging using these tools? I'm working on putting together a panel for the Washington State Hospital Association's rural hospital conference this summer and would love your thoughts.
  • John,

Great presentation. I am doing similar talks later this year to EMS organizations. Many of the concepts you have outlined in this presentation would apply to ambulance agencies.

    Was your presentation well received?

I am drafting a blog post that will include your embedded slides. I will let you know when it posts.
  • Thanks, Greg - glad you found it useful! The presentation went over well, although we could have used another hour to help bridge the gap between the neophytes and advanced users.

I appreciate you helping spread the word about rural and healthcare use for social media -- if you need anything from the slideshow just let me know. I look forward to seeing your presentation as well!
